WOMEN EMIGRANTS.
PRACTICAL PROPOSALS. By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright Received 14, 10 p.m. London, July 14. Princess Christian and the presidents of the Women's Workers' Union, the British Women's Christian Association, and the Girls' Friendly Society, has issued a circular offering suggestions to the oversea Governments respecting women emigrants. They suggest selection by responsible officials and reliable agencies; the girls to sail in the care of a State-paid matron; each State to provide a reception home free of board and lodgings for three days; the officials to find situations with approved employers; the girls to be allowed to return to these hostels during intervals of service at a moderate charge; and the States to appoint voluntary inspectors to visit the girls during the first year's service.
