BRITISH SHIPBUILDING
A RECORD YEAR. By Cable.—Pres« Association.—Copyright Received 12, 12.25 a.m. London, July 11. Excluding warships, 490 vessels, aggregating 1,476,304 tons, are in course of construction in Britain. This is 6200 tons above the previous record, in September, 1901. Germany is constructing vessels aggregating 255,90G tons, and France 126,186 tons, the United States 97,803 tons, Holland 78,425 tons, Austria 54,750 tons, Japan 34,239 tons, Italy 19,991 tons. Fifty-nine British and five foreign warships are being built in British yards.
