COAL VEND CASE.

COUNSEL'S ADDRESS. By CaWe. —Pre9B Association.—Copyright. Received lis 9-30 p.m. Sydney, July 11. Mr. Knox, counsel for the ship and mine owners, occupied the whole of today's sitting of the vend case. The address was not concluded when the court adjourned. ,He argued that when coming to an agreement with the shipping companies, the colliery proprietors had in mind the general preservation of the industry and uniform selling and hewing rates. Also some shipping companies had interests in certain collieries, and assumed that if no arrangements were entered into they would favor their own collieries in the carriage of coal.
