The majority of the members of the Dublin Corporation, at an informal meeting, repudiated the Lord Mayor's claim to represent the city in receiving the King, and instructed the Treasurer to retain the Mace and Sword until next Council meeting. The resolution was forwarded to the King and the Lord Lieutenant.
