BITTER OP WW IT IOX. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Washington, June 22. Western Republican senators are developing hitter opposition to reciprocity wan Canada. Six m rapid succession declared that before the Reciprocity Bill was allowed to pass, the Senate must agree to other, tariff revision Bills, including the tariff on wool. Mr. Root explained his amendment, which Senator Mann bitterly opposed, holding that it was a violation of the reciprocity agreement. Senator Gore's resolution instructing the Finance Committee to report the Wool Bill back to the Senate on July 10 was carried by 3fl votes to 18. The result of this vote is the disruption of the combination of senators who are favorable to reciprocity. It is admitted that the chance of the Bill for reciprocity with Canada passing are more remote.

It is believed that if the Conservatives after tnc house resumes, continue their opposition to reciprocity, Sir Wilfrid Lauricr will appeal to the country. Tho success of Mr. Borden's tour is believed to be impressing the Liberals with the need of early action. Mr. Borden ur<;cs prairie farmers to develop their own chilled meat industry with the aid of the Government, instead of depending on Australian and New Zealand supplies. •
