This evening at the Theatre Royal an entertainment will be held in aid of the funds for the Monster Cycle Road Race round the Mountain which is to be held in August. Mr. G. H. Saunders hat kindly consented' to assist the commit* tee in the matter, and a capital pictorial and musical programme has been arranged. Every film shown will depict a subject that has never yet been screened before a New Plymouth audience. A special feature is a picture showing the germination of plants, an interesting nature study that alone is worth the price. of admission. There are several star dramas included, among which is "Onomoko's Vow." The comic element has also been judiciously catered for, the aerial feats of "Tweedledum the Aviator" evoking much amusement. There will not be one dull moment during the evening, as the small lapse of time taken by the interchange of spools will be beguiled by humorous items by local artists. First-class orchestral music will also tend to enliven -the proceedings. A bumper house can confidently be looked forward to, as the cycle race will do much to advertise the town of New Plymouth and' the magnificent country on the route of the race, and in order to ensure its financial success funds are necessary for the initial, expenses. A meeting of the Cycle Road Race Committee will be held at the Theatre Royal at 7 p.m., as important business is to be transacted. A full attendance is requested.
