PROGRESS OF TQIARU. Jsy Telegraph.-r-Press Association. Timaru, Lust Night. The Borough Council last night decided to proceed with the erection of the new municipal buildings adjoining and in keeping with tne Public Library. The Council also decided to vote up to £SO towards the cost of a band rotunda in the park (making three m Timaru). As a Coronation memorial this idea originated with the Rugby Union, who devote the total gates at special matches on Thursday to the fund.

DOUGLAS SETTLEMENT. Christchurch, Last Night. For thirty-four sections in the Douglas settlement, Waimate County, 129 applications were received, covering all tho large farms and some of the small Jots.

TROTTING I-lORSE STOLEN. Ohristchurch, Last Night. The well-known trotter Prin«e Warbeclc, owned by Mr. J. C. Paget, has been stolen from Mr H. Haskett's farm at Yaldhurst, where he had been turned out. Mr. Ilaskett saw the horse at 7 p.m. on Monday, but half an hour later, when he went to bring it in for the night, it was not to be found. Prince Warbeck has a record of 4min. 44see. against him, and is valued at about ,1300. Tt is thought possible, that the horse may have ben taken by three Burnham boys who escaped from the institution on Monday morning.
