ENTERTAINMENTS.

A NEW ENTERPRISE. The perfection to which every phase of life and every aspect of Nature can now be faithfully and attractively illustrated by tho medium of the cinematograph has made "moving pictures" the most popular, the most entertaining, the most varied, and the most instructive, and at the same time the cheapest form of amusement that science has yet accomplished. The picture show is an entertainment for all classes, and consequently it has become a necessary adjunct to the everyday life of every city and town where the advances of civilisation have left their imprint. New Plymouth is shortly to havo a permanent picture show of its own that will be equal to the heßt in Australasia. Megßre ' Crust and Ojedsted, of the firm of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., have concluded arrangements for a long lease of the Theatre Royal. That is, of course, their business, but what concerns our readers is that Oils new firm have secured the rights for New Plymouth of a "circuit" of the latest and best films made by the leading makors in Europe and America, so that bi-weekly changes of pictures of the highest standard will be the regular "bill."
