GOLD AND SILVER. By Telegraph—Preus Association. Wellington, Friday. The gold exported from New Zealand for May was 00,371 ounces, valued at £240,281, an increase over the corresponding month of last year of 15,32!) ounces, valued at £00,425. The silver exported was 103,034 ounces, valued at £10,444, a decrease of 30,7f>5 ounces, valued at £2005. The gold exported ■in the last five months Was 100,0.">0 ounces, valued at £785,581, being a'decrease of 1703 ounces. The silver exported in the last five months was 542,809 ounces, valued at £544,409, a decrease of 187,159 ounces. POST AND TELEGRAPH REVENUE. Duncdin, Friday. .Speaking at Balclutha to-day, the Hni. T. Mackenzie announced Unit for Hie first time in the history of the Department the revenue of the Post and Telegraph Department had exceeded a million sterling. For the year ended March 31 the total revenue was £1.037.250, which might lie increased by foreign accounts to come; this was an increase of £75,000 on the previous year. SLY O.ROO-SELLTNO. Masterton, Fridav. Emily Haviland, on a charge of keeping liquor for sale in a no-license area, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment at Die Magistrate's Court to-tlav. The liquor was found'hy the police in'a hole in the floor under accused's bed.
