FARMERS' UNION.
CONFERENCE AT WOODVILLE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Woodville, Tuesday. The annual conference of the Farmers' Union, Wellington province, is being held to-day. There are about fifty delegates present, who came from Waverley in the north and Wainui-o-mata in the south. Mr. J. G. Wilson delivered his presidential address, which urged the need for experiments in cropping and toward increasing production. He dealt with butter and mutton, shearing troubles insurance, the Sedgwick boys, and domestic servants. After the address, which was adopted, Mr. Sedgwick addressed the meeting, explaining the working of his scheme, which he said had been curried out at his own expense. At the suggestion of the president a subscription list was started, he heading it with a donation of £5.
