SUPREME COURT.
AUCKLAND SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Monday. At the criminal sessions in the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Chapman, in his charge to the Grand Jury, referred to the large number of cases (25 bills) presented and said that no doubt the larger (proportion of criminal 'cases in Auckland compared with other cities was due to the greater population. He commented favorably on the absence of sexual cases. Frank Stokes, anas Tozcr, for forgery and uttering, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment and three years' reformatory treatment! Hape Tamara, alias King, for forgery and uttering, received two years' imprisonment and was declared an habitual criminal.
