The Scottish Agricultural Commissioners who recently visited Australia declare that the dependence on single men is one of the most undesirable features of Australian country life. The demand for married but childless couples is another objectionable phase. They speak highly of the agricultural high schools, and urge the need for better co-ordina-tion of scentific research work, and urge the want of method in placing newcomers on the land, and helping them to get a proper start. On the whole, Australia is a good dairymen's country. They eonelude: "It is curious how few wealthy industrial bodies in Australia have done anything in agricultural education."'
