FURTHER FIGURES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last' Night. Details of the Dominion's finances for the year ended March 31st, 1911, appear in to-night's Gazette. The principal items were made public by the Hon. J, A. Millar at Dunedin last Tuesday, but these may be supplemented a little.
The Naval Defence Aet account shows that £1,120,250 has been received of the loan of £1,250,000 authorised. Expenditure has charges were £431, leaving a balance ol £630,529. The native laud settlement account shows that £181,600 was received from the State Guaranteed Advances Office. The amount expended under the Act was £125,334. After providing for sinking fund, there is a balance of £44,322 in the Land lor Settlements account. The principal receipts were: Balance at beginning of the year, £202,385; rents, etc., from estates, £271,199; making with smaller items a total of £063,640.
The money spent during the year in the purchase of estates was £158,796. Expenses connected with these and other estates previously purchased amounted to £10,720. Interest paid to the Consolidated Fund in respect of debentures issued absorbed £224,037, and sinking fund £50,070. The balance nt the ena of the year was £03,397. The principal estates purchased and amounts paid were: Allanholm, £24,150; Aviemore, £050; Clandeboye, £14,470; Clamleboye, No. 2. £8102; Drayton, £21,200; Hornby, £3095; Kohika, No. 2. £11307; Meadows, £13,651; Ruapuna No. 2, £30.822; Stoke, £18,137; Waitakaruru, Xo. 5, £0522.
