The following arc the census ligures for Hi is district for 1011 and 190(1: —Mackenzie county. 1342—1030; Waimatc borough, 1702—1037. WAITARA. Tlie cons\is returns for tlie borough of Waitara have been supplied by Mr. J. S. S. Medley, enumerator. The figures show, that during the lust five years the river town has made considerable strides, having increased its population by over 50 per cent., the figures now being 1452. as against 050 when the census was taken in 11)06.
