BLOOD STOCK SALES. By cable.—Press Association— Copyright Sydney, April 20. The Sydney horse sales have coneluded. Altogether 753 lots were sold for 102,534 guineas. TARANAKI METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. The Metropolitan Committee met on Tuesday, Mr. Leppcr presiding. There were also present Messrs. Sole, Alexander, Weston, Webster, Hempton, Ellis and Standish. Apologies were received from Messrs. Blundell and Nolan. A jockey's license was granted to W. F. Mantle and an apprentice's license to Leslie Jones. On the recommendation of the Egmont Racing Club, the trainer's license granted to W. McElwain was cancelled. The following dates were applied fo/: Egmont Racing Club, February 7 and 8 and April 8 and 0, or failing these May 8 and, 0; Patea, April 8; Opunake March 17. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB.
The Taranaki Jockey Club met subsequently. Mr. A. D. Gray's resignation as a member was accepted with regret. Mr. W. A. Bone was elected a member of the club. It was decided that the Hon. O. Samuel be asked to act as the club's representative at the forthcoming meeting of the New Zealand Racing Conference to be held in Wellington on June 24 and 26. It was decided that the sub-committee supervising the erection of fence around training tracks be asked to erect same on the extreme inside of the tracks. Accounts amounting to £75 5s 6d were passed for payment.
