PEAHCE v. ARNST. By cable.—Press Association— Copyright Sydney, April 26. Pearce states that he has secured the stake money, and will be prepared to meet Arnst at an early date. ARNST AWAITS A CHALLENGE. Received 20, 8.50 p.m. Sydney, April 20. Richard Arnst, the world's champion sculler, on arrival, reiterated that if Pearce wanted a race for the world's championship in ten weeks he could have one. ARNST WANTS A LITTLE MORE TIME. Received 27, 12.12 a.m. Sydney, April 20. At the paying-over of the stakes in the Pearcc-Kemp race, Pearce repeated his challenge to row Arnst. He declared he could get £SOO backing. Arnst said he would give him a race all right, but he did not know about ten weeks, for he had not been too well lately, and wanted lo ;_'ot fit und well. He and Pearce could have a chat and fix things up. Pearee\s backers offered to put up £IOO in the room to fix the match.
