The Lawn Tennis Association has invited South Africa and America to contest the preliminary round for the Davis Cup in England during Coronation week, the winner of this round playing England to decide who shall go to Australia. VICTORIA v. NEW SOUTH WALES. Received 27, 12.40 a.m. Sydney, April 26. The Mars-Buckley tennis contests have commenced. At the close of the day's play New South Wales was leading Victoria by three rubbers to one.
