PETROLEUM NEWS.
TARAXAKI OIL COMPANY. "- By Telegraph.- association. Wellington, Tuesday. The Stock Exchange, in consequenceof reports which appeared in the local press from New Plymouth to the effect that Taranaki Petroleum shares have recently been selling at par, hag issued a statement that for a considerabletime pa9t the selling quotations at this exchange have been from 14s Od to 14s. SHARES CHANGE HANDS AT PAR. In connection with the above telegram, the effect of which would be to discredit the information previously supplied, we have the authority of thechairman of directors for reiterating that transactions in the shares have taken place at par. Singularly enough, a similar application for the transfer of shares at par (twenty shillings per share) was received at the company's office yesterday. Buy preference shares at once. They, are a perfectly safe and very promising investment, and one that may be recommended with confidence. Send to Walter Bewlcy, New Plymouth.—Adrt.
