Dunedin, Last Night, At a meeting of the Education Hoard to-day, the Chief Inspector, Mr. Richardson, reported that some teachers in the Board's service had passed the necessary examinations, but were treated as uncertificated teachers until they were 21 years of age. In the meantime they could not be permanently employed. They lost from five to ten per cent, in salary, and they could not become contributors to the superannuation fund. The Board decided to bring the facts under the notice of the Department. It. was also decided to urge the Department to establish a central school of correspondence for assistance of uncertificated teachers throughout the Dominion. |
