HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following is the High Commissioner's cable, dated London, 13th:— Mutton.—Market quiet. Trade is very disappointing, there being only a very hand-to-mouth demand. Canterbury 3%d, North Island 3'/od. Lamb. —Good demand, on account of Easter. Canterbury sd; other than Canterbury, 4%d. Beef.—Market depressed on accouont of supplies of River Plate beef being heavy, and supplies of American chilled beef large. New Zealand hinds 4d, fores 2%d. Butter.—Market very firm for best quality. Choicest New Zealand butter 109s. Olicese.—Market very firm. New Zealand 03s. Kauri Gum.—Market quiet, and small business doing. Ordinary to fair threequarter scraped, £8 10s; fair, halfscraped £5 ss, brown, fair lialf to three-quarter scraped, £4 ss; brown pickings, common to good, 40s; bush, fair to good, pale and amber scraped, £8 ss. Stock, 309 tons.
