BOILING BEESWAX
DANGEROUS DOMESTIC OCCUPATION. By Telegraph.—Press Asnoeiation. Auckland, Wednesday. At 10.20 this morning a fire broke out in a three-storey house in Ilopetoun street, Newton, occupied by the Rev. W. Ready, Methodist minister. Mrs. Ready and maid were in the house at the time. Mrs. Ready was boiling beeswax over the stove in the kitchen. This flared up, and it is surmised that Mrs. Ready jumped from the second storey to the ground, about 20 feet. She was found on the ground unconscious, suffering from slight burns on the face, and both ankles were severely hurt. The house was the property of the Methodist connection, and contained 14 rooms. The interior was completely gutted, and no furniture was saved. It was insured for £2OO in the New Zealand Office, which also held a policy oyer the house of £BOO. Mrs. Ready will be laid up for some considerable time.
