MR MASSEY AT DUNEDIN

RECEIVES A GOOD HEARING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Mr. Masscy, loader of the Opposition, faced it large audience in the Garrison Tlall this evening, when he delivered a sncech criticising the policy and legislation of the Government. Tic declared himself in favor of a tenure which should give a. better opportunity of securing Ihe freehold, and referred to the present Hills oil the Statute Book which had been nut there larcelv throusrh the efforts of himself and his party. He severely criticised the Government's land policy, it.s loan poliev, and its public works and civil service legislation. The speaker was subject to some good-humored interjection*. but proved himself alile to return more than he received. His speech was punctuated with several bursts of applause, which at the conclusion was loud and continuous. He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
