MASSACRED BY NATIVES
PUNITIVE EXPEDITION SENT. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Received 9, 5 p.m. Calcutta, April 8. Mr. Noel Williamson, whose death is reported at the hands of savage tribesmen at Saduja, in Assam, was, with Dr. Gregorson and fifty coolies, ascending the Dihong river, unarmed, on a friendly mission, when they were suddenly attacked. All were massacred excepting-two natives, Two hundred military police have been despatched. Received 10, 1 a.m. Calcutta, April 9. Williamson's assailants were 1200 Abar savages.
