BURGLARIES IN DUNEDIN
CULPRITS CAUGHT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. During the past week the police have received several complaints about houses at St. Clair and St. Kilda having been broken into and valuables stolen therefrom. This afternoon a detective and two constables saw two men loitering in High street, Musselburgh, and decided to watch them. The suspected men, however, saw one of the police officers, and speedily decamped. The police, who were on bicycles, soon overtook them, and searched them. On one of them was found articles reported as missing, sufficient goods to form the subject of seven or eight charges. The men's names are Samuel MacDonald and Charles Mao Donald, aged about 21 and 23 respectively. They state that they came from Wanaka, and that they had been working round the country, having come to town during the past two weeks. One of them has admitted being the culprit in several of the offences. Both men will be charged with housebreaking.
