The Taranaki Petroleum Company reports that No. 5 bore is down to 1170 feet, and good progress is being made with the drilling through papa and sandstone. At No. 3 there is little change in the formation. This bore is now down to a deptli of ,1642 ft. No. 2 bore is still flowing as strongly as ever, and there is no apparent abatement in its usual average. Another consignment of 8-inch casing for No. 5 bore is to hand.. A further shipment of crude oil was sent to Auckland yesterday. , The slmrnnurket shows activity, a good number of transfers being' put through, while a fair number of preference shares have been applied for.
