M. OSSIPOFF. I M. Ossipoff, the famous Russian singer who visited New Plymouth some months ago, has decided to give concerts in the Theatre Royal on the 20th and 21st of April. Throughout the colony he is having packed houses. i IRISH NATIONAL CONCERT. ''St. Patrick's Day iu the evening." The Theatre Royal next Friday, tile 17th, will be the scene of mirth, music' and song. One of the finest combinations of local artists will give a rendering of concert items. The abilities of the different performers are so well known that a bumper house is assured, and the committee is leaving no stone unturned to make the evening a most enjoyable one. MISS AMY CASTLES. The audience which will greet Miss Amy Castles at her concert on Monday, March 20, will be treated to a fine perfsraiance. Commenting on her first coacert in Dunedin, the Otago Daily Times stated that "the pleasurable anticipation of music-lovers respecting her reappearance In Dunedin was amply realised, the opening concert proving from beginning to ending a pronounced success, and reaching a high level of artistic excellence. As a concert singer Miss Castles possesses all the qualities indispensable to those who would excel, and her engaging stage personality enhances the impression created by her fine proficiency in the vocal art. Her methods are to-day those of the finished artist, and the results command the highest admiration and respect. As for her voice, its natural beauty and purity would commend it under any circumstances, and used as it is with all the knowledge, skill, and confidence acquired by the best training and experience, its charm is undeniable and exceptional."! The famous Australian prima donna is supported by a remarkable trio of ar-j tists, consisting of Ilerr Alex Camp-' hausen, a basso-baritone, with a great l Continental reputation; ITerr Louis | ITattenbach, one of the finest 'cellist ; player existent; and Mr. Wm. Con-| wav. a brilliant young Victorian pianist,' with a superb continental training. The concert promises to be an artistic treat.'
