UNREST AT BROKEN HILL. By Gable—Press As&e«iirtioa—Cftpyriflht. Received 14, 9.55 p.m. Sydney, March 14. The Broken Hill engine-drivers and firemen, at a meeting, decided by a show of hands to adopt drastic measures unless one of the drivers who was dismissed is reinstated. An amendment for a secret ballot was afterwards carried. This was taken, and resulted in a reversal of the open vote. A VESSEL ASHORE. Received 14, 9.55 p.m. Adelaide, March 14. An unsuccessful attempt was made to float the Ville de Dijon. The vessel will have to be lightered. FLEECING THE SHELLBACKS. Received 15, 1.17 a.m. Sydney, March 14. Mr. Carmichael has been investigating the manner in which visiting sailors are fleeced, and has determined on better police supervision at the shipping offices, and the establishment of a sailors' savings bank.
