THE CONGO ANNEXATION
BRITAIN'S TREATY RIGHTS. By Cable—.Press Association—Copyright. Received 28, 9.20 p.m. London, February 28. Mr. MacKinnon Wood announced that Britain would not recognise the annexation of the Congo until in possession of evidence showing the situation regarding the position of natives and trade, such as would afford reasonable opportunity of fulfilling our treaty rights.
