ROASTED FOR A SHILLING
A PATHETIC STORY. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Berlin, February 20. A woman was sentenced to imprisinment for a day in Silesia, as she was unable to pay a shilling fine for not having sent her children to school. The straw in her cell caught fire, and, the woman's cries being unheard, she was burned to death. Nine children are left orphans.
