THANKS AND CONFIDENCE. t By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ashburton, Last Night. The Premier, who arrived in Ashbur« ton this afternoon, addressed a crowded meeting of over 800 people at the Oddfellows' Hall to-night, on the usual lines. He spoke for two hours and defended the Government from the recent attacks. He dealt at length with the favored position of the country, and expounded recent legislation. At the conclusion, he was a«corded a hearty vote of thanks and confidence.
