COMPENSATION COURT

A LONGBURN CASE. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. Before Sir Robert Stout to-day, John Baillie, engineer, sued the National Mortgage and Agency Company for £433, compensation for injury done him by a starting lever at Longburn freezing works. Plaintiff alleged that the injury had been done him through defendant company's neglect of its machinery. Two eye witnesses and five expert witnesses testified that it was impossible that the accident could have occurred had plaintiff not shown contributory negligence in putting the starting lever in while the fly wheel was reversing. The jury found for defendants on all counts wth costs.
