DISTRICT NEWS.
KORITO. (From Our Own Correspondent). Here we are again, Mr. Editor, come to life again after the holidays. Sorry there has been nothing striking to report of late, livcrybody has been busy harvesting, and some very good material has been saved for winter supply. As showing the fattening qualities of the. land in this district, Mr. A. B. Gamlin, of Inglewood, took away over a thousand fat sheep and lambs last week, all bought from farmers who are milking a fair number of cows. 1 understand Mr. Gamlin intends to ship the carcases Home through the Waitara Freezing Works. The country is looking parched, and unless rain visits us soon the turnip crops and winter feed will be soriously affected. The milk supply at the creamery is daily decreasing, owing largely to the. dry spell. At the School Committee meeting on Tuesday erening last, it was decided to hold the annual school picnic on Thursday, March !>. The Rev. .1. Guv gave a very instructive and interesting lecture on his recent trip to the Homeland, in the Primitive Methodist Church on Wednesday evening last. Thore was a fair number present and they listened very attentively throughout.
