The representatives of various sports waited on Sir Joseph Ward this afternoon with a request that the Government should give monetary assistance towards sending Home a team of New Zealand athletes to compete at the Festival of Empire. Sir Joseph Ward replied sympathetically, and asked the deputation to give full details as to the cost likely to be involved.
