ACQUITTED OF ASSAULT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Thursday. In the Supreme Court to-day a verdict of not guilty was returned by the jury in the case in which William Linton was charged with assault with intent to commit rape. THE PITCAITHLY CASE. Christchurch, Thursday. In the Pitcaithly case the jury returned a. verdict of not guilty, and prisoner was discharged.
