COUNTERFEITERS SENTENCED
YOUNG MAN SHIELDS HIS FATHER. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Received 7. 9.30 p.m. Sydney, February 7. Youells, father and son, were each sentenced to five years' penal servitude on charges of having made 32 counterfeit sovereigns found in their possession. The younger prisoner, who, prior to the jury giving their verdict, declared he was innocent, subsequently made a statement in the box, confessing he had gilded the coins, and declaring his father knew nothing of the matter. The police evidence showed that the younger Youell had been associated with three men, who were arrested afterwards and sentenced for passing counterfeit ">!r S nt Flemington last Derby Hay.
