A BATCH OF SENTENCES. 'By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. Mr. Justice Chapman sentenced seven prisoners to-day. Herman Henry Grell and Percival George Hester, breaking and entering and theft, the latter got probation for three years and was ordered to pay £5 costs, and Grell was sentenced to six months' reformative treatment; James McLean, false pretences, 12 months' treatment; Frederick William Jones, forgery and uttering, two years and declared an habitual criminal; Sydney Robert Hansen, theft, 12 months' and three years' detention fat treatment; William Tiiomp alias Thompson, theft from dwelling, two years and two years' treatment; Albert Murphy, attempted housebreaking, three years' treatment.
