CANTERBURY RUNS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night Messrs. Oraigie and Buxton, M.P.'s, met the Hon. J. A. Millar at the train yesterday, and urged that the Land Board's decision that applicants for Canterbury runs must possess cash equal to seven years' rental of any run applied for was exorbitant and unnecessary. They suggested that four years was quite enough. The Minister promised consideration. ALLEGED INDECENT ASSAULT. Christchurch, Saturday' Night. The re-hearing of a charge against William Pitoaithly of having indecently assaulted a girl eighteen years of age employed by him as a housemaid was taken before Mr, Bailey, S.M., to-day, and after evidence had been heard, the accused was committed for trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court.
