By a fire in the main street at Cowra ten wooden business places were destroyed, including a picture show. The audience stampeded, but no one was seriously injured. The damage has not been estimated. The Federal Government is prohibiting the use of sacks containing over 2001bs. in weight, which, in the course of transit, have to be carried on a man's back. ENGINE DRIVER KILLED. Received 4, 1.15 a.m. Perth, February 3. A goods train was derailed at Pinjarrali. The driver, named Long, jumped from the engine, and was crushed to death beneath a carriage.
