A BUSH FATALITY
AN ENGINE RUNS AWAY. THREE MEN KILLED, TWO SERIOUSLY INJURED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, Monday. News from Havelock states that a locomotive at Opouri sawmill, Nydia Bay, left the rails and ran into a stump. The impact completely destroyed the engine, and three men, Wm. O'Brien, George Anderson, and John Corliss, were killed and two others severely injured. Blenheim, Last Night. Further particulars of the fatality at Nydia Bay on Saturday show that five men, John Corliss, William O'Brien, George Anderson, Climo and Biree (driver) were on hoard a locomotive drawing a load of logs down a steep incline, when the engine got away and leaving the rails, crashed into a stump. Three of the unfortunate men, Anderson, Corliss and O'Brien were pinned beneath the engine and scalded to death. Climo and Birse were thrown away from the engine, and escaped with severe injuries. They were immediately taken to Hamilton Hospital, where the bodies of the dead were also conveyed. " t
