ATTEMPTED SUICIDE

AXI) A DECISION TO LIVE. A man named George Main, well past middle age, a carpenter, residing ill Gilbert street, caused a bit of a sensation last night, and badly scared his wife and family by making a half-hearted sort of an attempt at suicide. He made two or three small incisions in his wrist, and allowed the blood to flow, but later he must have changed his mind about making his exit this way, for hj? bandaged up the wounds. He was reported to have wandered awav when Constable Listou was sent for, and there was some idea of searching the Recreation Grounds for his body. But the constable found the man at home, and, believing that Main would be all the better for being placed under supervision, marclud him oil' to the lock-up. Main has a wife ami a family of Several children.
