Loud rumblings and shocks re-alarmed the. people at V.vernyi. Many walls damaged by the previous earthquakes were destroyed.
LOAN OVER-SUBSCRIBED. Received 10, 10 p.m. Vienna, January 10. Details of the colossal over-subscription ot the Hungarian loan show that applications were received totalling £a53,000,OflO. Five hundred millions were subscribed in Germany, sixty-six in Austria, sixteen in Hungary, and the remainder in Belgium, Switzerland, and Holland. RECRUITING NEGRO TROOPS. Received 10, 11.30 p.m. Paris, January 10. Colonel Mangin, who was entrusted Willi the mission to Africa, with a view of recruiting negro troops, declares that it is possible to recruit forty thousand blacks, and that two regiments could be easily formed in 1911, one of which could be utilised in French Nigeria territory.
