A STRANGE CUSTOMER
STEED STROLLS INTO A STUDIO. ' A tremendous stamping in the lobbv of a local photographic .studio the other day made the lady assistant wonder. 'The noise continuing, she peeped out, and surprise scarcely expresses the feelings which prompted her almost immediate disappearance by the back door. It wasn't a rowdy, or a. drunk, or even a party of friends dragging in an unwilling companion to bo "snapped." These would hardly have made as much clatter. But what nearly touched her nose as sne peered round the corner was the nose of a horse! Given-presence of mind, and the presence of a camera, what a chance for a snapshot of a strange visitor to the studio. But no camera being handy—it us not on record that one was ■thought of at the moment—the assistant incontinently fled, dosing the back door after her to make sure that the stray steed would scare her no further. By dint of careful handling, the horse was persuaded by his owner and the proprietor of the studio to return to the street, the animal fortunately not taking it into its head to emulate* the deeds of the much-quoted '"bull in a china-shop." A horse amongst photographic plates would doubtless place that venturesome bovine completely in the shade. It isn't safe to suggest the horse as the subject of a snapshot in certain quarters just now!
