BUSINESS NOTICES.

In to-day's paper appears a very Interesting letter written from New' Plymouth by a lady to her friend in the country. Unlike most women's letters, the newsy part is not confined to one sentence or a postscript. Right through it is brimful of excitement over a visit to Messrs. Morey and Son's sale. Ana well it might, as we understand that such a day of excited bargain buying has never been witnessed in New Plymouth before, as was the opening day at Morey's. The Melbourne's 10s 9d welted boot for men is a fine example of what can be saved to the consumer by direct dealing. This famous line of boots is imported direct from a leading Northampton (England) manufacturer, and by the elimination of various middlemen can be retailed at 10s 9d, a price that >is at least several shillings lower than it would be if bought in the ordinary way through warehousemen and agents. —Advt. For next week's visitors to White's sale there are plenty of the cheap cotton goods everybody lias been talking about. A number of new patterns not previously shown are put into the stock, and whether you want prints at 4 1 / ad, &/«&, or Od, you will find plenty of splendid patterns, and every one absolutely fast in color.—Advt. French kid gloves, 2s lid a pair; wide sash ribbons, lid per yard; 42-ineh chiffon, lid per yard; leather belts, Is each, are some of the special lines to be! found at the Busy Cash Store, opposite j Carnegie Library, King street, New Plymouth.—Advt. I Ambury Bros, have pleasure In report-1 ing record Xmas business. A pleasing feature is the fact that a large number of settlers who have been doing con-' sistent business with the Arm for 20 years are still among their best customers, while a great number of more recent residents of town and country and many visitors have accorded them their generous patronage. The firm takes this opportunity of thanking their numerous patrons for past support, and assuring them and the general public that no effort shall be wanting in catering for the requirements of the district in future. With besjt wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year.—Advt.
