THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Primitive Methodist Conference was continued yesterday. The furnishing fund committee reported that the value of the furniture in manses was £2,144. It was insured for £1790. The Rev. G. Knowles-Smitli, general committee delegate, and chairman of the furnishing fund committee, stated that very shortly a serious position would have to be faced in this connection. Probationers were becoming ministers, and they must bo provived with homes, as they were entitled to right of matrimony. After discussion, it was decided that stations having probationers shall have the amount required for the furnishing fund added to their taxation, except where provision lias already been made. The examining board reported the following passes for probationers and candidates for ordination: Rev. D. B. I«. Carlisle, 485 marks (possible COO); Rev. F. A. Thompson, 475 marks. Second year probationers: 11. Cottam, 4<Jl); E. Bandy, 512; J. Suckling, 515; A. H. Fowlcs, 428. First year probationers: 11. A. Sharp 482, A. karris 499. Candidates for the ministry, N T . Hyde, flfia marks (possible 900); j. Charte'ris, 090, F. Frost, 721. A garden party was held at Island Bay in the afternoon to stimulate interest in Home Mission work. There was a large attendance, and a number ot addresses on mission work were delivered. Several delegates addressed an open-air meeting in the city on Saturday night. This afternoon a "cam]) meeting" at Newton Park was largely attended. The clerical members of the conference occupied pulpits at all the Primitive Methodist churches, and some of the YVesleyan, Baptist, and Congregational churches to-day.
