A MURDER CHARGE. Received 15, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, January 14. Percy Fynch was committed for trial on the charge of murder of Archibald Stone, found dead in a public park at Fitzroy, Melbourne. [Fynch alleged that the deceased attempted to assault one of his girl companions, and in the struggle he hit Stone witii a toy revolver. Medical evidence favored the view 1 that the murdered man was kicked on the head whilst prostrate on the ground.]

The civil servants now number 15.71)3. and the present Government is largely increasing the salary expenditure.
