He stated that the Sydney baker, to produce loaves weighing 241b at noon, must use 271b of dough; the Melbourne baker 261b 2oz; the New Zealand baker 2Clb 2y 2 oz. of dough

The Grand Council of the Association adopted a resolution that the Science Association views with satisfaction the successful establishment by the New Zealand Government of a tidal survey, and trusts that in as many outlying islands as possible automatic tide gauges may be established and the results systematically analysed. It was directed that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to Sir Joseph Ward. Professor Marshall contributed a paper on coral reefs. Mr. Hamilton, director of the Dominion Museum, gave an illustrated lecture, describing the decorative art of the Maoris. DR. MAWSON'S EXPEDITION. Received 16, 12.50 a.m. Sydney, January 15. The Grand Council voted £IOOO to Dr. Mawson's Antarctic expedition. The Congress session has closed.
