Steiner Morrison, who was arrested as cabled yesterday, has been identified as having supped with Beron on New Year's Eve, and having been seen with him on other occasions. Morrison made a voluntary statement to the police, and said, "I am a native of Australia, born in Sydney and brought up in England. Latterly I have worked as a journeyman baker." The police gave evidence that they had found bloodstains on his cuffs and collar. He was remanded for a week.
Further human remains have been found belonging to Fritz or Fugel.

The Magisterial enquiry into the Sydney street and Houndsditch cases is likely to be protracted, many of the witnesses speaking only Yiddish or Russian. Gershon gave evidence that Jacobs was a friend of her husband's. ' Fritz and Jacobs arrived at 11 o'clock at n.ight, and terrorised her into giving up a bedroom. They also compelled her to take her skirt and shoes off, to prevent her leaving the house. The officer commanding the fire brigade gave evidence that the police told him that Mr. Churchill had charge of operations, and he waited for an hour until Mr. Churchill allowed him to extinguish the fire.
NOT BOMBS AFTER ALL. Received 10, 11.40 p.m. London, January 10. The cylinders found in the Sydney street ruins were not bombs, but merely tubes used in button-making.
