BUSINESS NOTICES.
The finest lambs that have ever come through the abattoirs will be on view and for sale in Messrs. Sole Bros.' shop to-day. The firm always makes a point of buying the very best lambs for the festive season, and this year they have been unusually fortunate, the lambs being in the primest condition and averaging 561bs in weight. Nothing like them has ever been seen in the district before, and housewives should make a point of paying an early .visit to the] shop to secure their Xmas meat. This morning, at 9.30 a.m., Webster Bros, will sell a choice lot of 300 boxes of Auckland and Nelson fruits. This sale will possibly be Webster Bros.' last fruit sale before Xmas, and is being held to allow the fruit to be distributed in good time.
The public are reminded of the cheap excursion fares on the Wanganui river— Wanganui to Pipiriki, return at single fare of 15s—and also of the special trips on next tand the following Sunday (Christmas and New Year's Days), jurictioning at Aramoho with the all-night expresses from Wellington. Holidaymakers are now travelling in good numbers on the river, the magnificent scenery and the splendid accommodation at the new Pipiriki House and the houseboat being pleasant surprises and themes, of favorable comment.
