A ROAD BOARD CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taihape, Wednesday. The chairman and two members of the Upper Mangaehu Road Board were proceeded against by another member of the board for a breach of section 63 of the Road Boards Act by voting on a question in which they were personally interested. The Magistrate inflicted a fine of £4 each and costs, the amount of the fine being on the expense of a new election, as lose their seats on the board. The point in question was voting a sum—the expenses of a deputation to Wellington —authorised by the board. The Magistrate decided that the members were entitled to the money, but that they did not go the right way to work to get it.
