A YOUTH'S SUICIDE. r— _ * By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hawera, Yesterday. Leonard Russell, the young man who attempted suicide yesterday by cutting his throat with a razor, died in hospital last night. [The deceased was a New Plymouth lad, and his family still reside here.] CRUSHED ON THE WHARF. Wellington, Yesterday. George Laudi, whose left arm was badly crushed while working on the Queen' 3 wharf last Monday, died in hospital' to-day. He was carrying some flour out of a shed when he was jambed between a passing lorry and some packing cases and thrown under the vehicle. FATAL BUGGY ACCIDENT. Auckland, Last Night. Arthur Phillip Tennant, about 65 years of age, a brother of the late Dr. Tennant, of Auckland, died this evening from injuries received in a buggy accident at Papatoetoe to-dav. Tennant was in the employ of Mr. McLoughlan, and had driven the latter and his wife to the station, and was proceeding there again with a load, when the vehicle was upset, the horse having its leg broken and the driver being thrown out. When picked up Tennant was unconscious, and passed away in the hosiptal to-night. DROPPED DEAD. / , , —•**' Christcliiircn, Last Night. An elderly man, named John Graham, aged about GO years, dropped dead wliile working in the hold of the collier Petone at Lyttelton shortly before noon to-day. Deceased, who hail been a waterside worker at Lyttelton for many years, was well known in port. He appeared to he in his usual health this morning. Deceased was a married man, residing at Sydenham, and it is stated that he had been receiving treatment for heart disease.
